Dana (Amman)

This 8 ½ year old girl also was not on our original list, but her therapist, Tawfiq, heard about Eleanore’s Project and came to us as the Amman distribution ended hoping to find help for her. Dana has cerebral palsy and is very stiff with no head control. We gave Tawfiq an extra wheelchair that seemed appropriate based on information about her, and planned to meet for fitting and paperwork after completing our work in Irbid. A week later we met Dana; the wheelchair was almost a perfect fit with only minor adjustments needed. Best of all, her family joyfully reported that since receiving the chair, she had said 4 words for the first time in her life! Imagine the excitement of hearing “mama” and “daddy” for the first time, having given up hope.
