Eleanore’s Story

Eleanore is the inspiration for the work we do at Eleanore's Project. It's in her memory that we are improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

Eleanore is a pre-teen girl wearing a cute vest and turtleneck. She has brown hair pulled back in a ponytail and she's sitting in her wheelchair.

Our Inspiration

Eleanore Kittelson-Aldred lived a remarkable, but short life in Missoula, Montana, where she was born deaf and with cerebral palsy and was a lifetime wheelchair user.

She had a large impact on her community as well as her family during that time. In 2004 Eleanore’s Project was formed as her legacy, with a goal of serving children in less resourced parts of the world by providing the kinds of equipment and support that helped her thrive. Eleanore’s Project aims to give the high-quality of care that Eleanore received in her lifetime. Learn more about what we do.
